Hello,
My colleagues and I were having trouble downloading data from our mobile devices after updating our CT database while we were in the field. Unfortunately, I lost a day of data due to this issue, and so I tried to take precaution and copied the folder containing the CT application from the phone onto the computer before trying to download my newly data collected the next day. I was hoping that I would be able to use this folder to restore my data in case something went wrong with downloading again (which sadly it did).
Here is a screenshot of all the contents of the folder that I copied:
Now I am back from fieldwork, I have tried using previous threads to restore the lost data, but I do not seem to have the XML file that is mentioned in these posts (Data Backup DAT File - #9 by jesus_Sanchez and Using /CreateCtx to recover DAT backups).
I have tried combining just the TXT and DAT files into a CAB file (without the XML) and followed the instructions to turn that into a CTX file, but nothing appeared when I tried to open it in CT. I also noticed that I have two very similar TXT files in the folder that both seem to contain the elements of our database, with the exception that one of them contains 489 lines less than the other. I have tried using both of them, but neither resulted in a working CTX file.
Is there still a way to salvage my data from the files that I currently have?
Hope that it all makes sense!
Kim
