Dear CyberTracker Team,
We are currently a team of four working on a specific CyberTracker (CT) project in the lab and field.
After each fieldwork session, one of us performs the data download, saves the database with the new data from the day, and processes the export using a Python script to plan the next day’s fieldwork. The person responsible for the data download varies. The MDB and CTX files are stored in a shared folder, which is updated after each day of fieldwork.
3 of us have not encountered any issues. However, one team member is facing a peculiar problem (we are all using CT Classic v3.532). We have tried uninstalling and reinstalling CT on this computer and rebooting it multiple times, but the issue persists.
Here is a description of the problem:
- Open the latest MDB file from the project.
- Download the data (new sightings populate the report section, see Screenshot_1.jpg).
- Save the file with the date of the fieldwork (save as).
- Reopen the MDB file.
- Sightings display “Unknown Elements” instead of the expected results (some values are still registered correctly like “Visite” and “PARMAJ?”, see Screenshot_2.jpg). The “Elements” section is missing some elements.
- If we just send a “test” sighting via our mobile device and download the data, the “Unknown Elements” are resolved and the previous sightings are all displayed.
- However, some elements do not display the registered values in the appropriate columns. We need to double-click on the element in the sighting, which adds a new column with the correct value, allowing us to delete the “old” column (see Screenshot_3.jpg with the “Site” column).
We found a similar topic:
https://support.cybertracker.org/t/unusual-error-appear/327
However, in our case, no elements have been deleted. We encounter the same issue whether we download data or import a CTX file (from Backup), save the MDB, and reopen it.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?
Thank you in advance,
Lauriane
