Spontaneious (?) change in Edit and save displays on movile device

Hi - My Cybertracker has unexpectedely changed what happens when tapping the Black circle at bottom left of the screen to initiate an edit of a freshly saved record. It now produces a more complex screen which is focused on the first record of in the memory. It is possible to cycle forward through the saved observations one by one using the right arrow icon, and tap on the ‘pencil(?) icon to initiate an edit when the correct record is found. Previously tapping the black circle took you to to the end of the memory and allow you to cycle back to the most recent records - which at the end of a long session with many records is far more practical.!

Simultaneously the display shown when saving a new observation has changed from the black triangle to a circular disc with a representation of satellite positions as coloured points.. taking noticeably long to process.

Also simultaneous with these events the saved records are no longer found when attempting to download to the laptop.

Functionality is suddently ‘compromised’ at several levels and I have not idea what I did to cause this. Have uninstalled the sequence on the phone and reloaded ‘sucessfully’ rom the laptop original that provided ‘normal’ editing and a black triangle on saving when created. But the ‘new’ behaviour.persisted.

Any advice very welcome..

Spontaneious? No! I guess this is the update to 1.0.60(4). The design of the “Option”-Button has changed. The order of the sightings I have also observed and your suggestion makes sence for me.

Your post has more to do with “Support Mobile” than “Online”. I’ll move into the other section.

To clarify, you want the order of the sightings on the Options dialog to be reversed?

If you feel like you have lost data, please send me a bug report and I will check it out.

Cheers,
-Justin

Thanks both for looking at this. Am still not clear whether the ‘new’ behaviour is the new normal? ie. is the black triangle on saving a record now defunct and has the downloading routine also been changed to a more elaborate process for good?. Impressed, and somewhat concerned that these changes appeared on my phone without my knowledge or involvement!

Hi Tim,

Software generally updates and adds new functionality automatically, so if you want no changes, it is best to pick a version as an APK and stick with that. In your case, I would stick with version 595:

https://ctwiki.blob.core.windows.net/bin/CT-build-595.apk

These changes are about connecting Classic CyberTracker users with all the modern features of the rest of CyberTracker. We definitely did not want to create excessive disruption, but there are a lot of useful things that happen as a result.

For the download function being more elaborate, this is true - if you were previously downloading over a cable, you will need an additional step of pressing Options, going to the Export tab and clicking Export. If you are using any of the online mechanisms (like Publish), then there is no change. We are working on creating a one-tap kind of solution to make this simpler.

Cheers,
-Justin
