Missing data when uploading

Is it possible for one or more sightings to be lost when uploading?
I am just eliminating possibilities for some missing data.

This is pretty unlikely. We do not know of any data loss scenarios and we have been doing this for years.

My colleague encountered upload failures which led to lost data. She did get an error on her screen when she tried to upload. We have not found any way to recover the data. There is an open discussion thread about it here:

A colleague of mine also had a failed upload after gathering data for the first time. Is there a way to get the data right off of the phone when uploading fails? I’ve been searching through the files on my own phone trying to find where data is stored and have been unable to locate it.
